Welcome to Olive Our Recipes ("Olive", "we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using our mobile application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

1. Use of the Service

Olive provides a digital cookbook and meal planning assistant that utilizes generative AI to extract, format, and organize recipe information from text, images, and videos. You agree to use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

2. User Content, Intellectual Property & Sharing

You retain ownership of any recipes, photos, notes, and content you submit. By uploading content, you grant Olive a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and display your content solely for operating and providing the service.

Public Recipes & Community Sharing: When you choose to make a recipe public or share it with others, you grant other users of the service a non-exclusive license to view, save, reference, and copy that recipe into their personal cookbooks for personal, non-commercial use.

Changing Recipe Privacy: If you subsequently change a public recipe to private, it will be immediately removed from public search and will no longer be accessible to new users. However, users who previously saved, bookmarked, or referenced that recipe prior to it being made private may retain a private, read-only archived copy in their personal cookbooks so that their meal plans, shopping lists, and saved collections remain intact. If you wish to permanently purge a recipe from our platform entirely, you may delete the recipe.

3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Olive offers premium features ("Olive Our Recipes Pro") via auto-renewing subscriptions for personal, household culinary management:

• Payment: Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period.
• Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your device account settings (App Store / Google Play).
• Restoration: You can restore your purchases on any authorized device using the "Restore Purchases" button in the app.

For users downloading Olive via the Apple App Store, subscriptions and app usage are subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

4. Fair Use Policy & AI Quotas

To preserve server reliability, prevent commercial scraping, and safeguard against automated abuse, the following fair use rules apply to all AI services:

• Personal Non-Commercial Use: Olive is provided solely for personal and household culinary use. You agree not to access the service using automated scripts, bots, scrapers, headless browsers, or reverse-engineered API clients.
• Free Tier Quotas: New accounts receive our First Month Welcome Bonus of 25 AI recipe scans and 25 smart shopping lists during their first 30 days. Ongoing free accounts enjoy an allowance of 10 AI recipe scans and 15 smart shopping lists each calendar month, resetting on the 1st of every month.
• Olive Pro Fair Use Safeguards: Olive Pro offers generous, high-capacity access designed to cover everyday home cooking, recipe curation, and personal cookbook digitizing. To protect infrastructure integrity from automated abuse or unauthorized commercial scraping, Pro accounts are subject to automated fair use velocity and safety ceilings (including automated burst cooldowns and a monthly threshold of 300 recipe scans, 75 video recipe extractions, and 150 smart shopping lists). If you have a legitimate personal need to digitize a very large family heirloom collection that approaches these limits, please reach out to our team at support@oliveourrecipes.com for bulk digitization assistance.
• Enforcement: We reserve the right to temporarily throttle, restrict, or suspend accounts that engage in automated bot activity, commercial scraping, or intentional circumvention of security controls.

5. AI Features & Culinary Disclaimer

Our AI extraction, video parsing, and shopping list consolidation features are automated. While we strive for accuracy, recipes, nutritional assumptions, and ingredient units extracted by AI should be reviewed by you before preparation or consumption, particularly if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Olive is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind.
